Kuching Scuba Centre's PADI Dive Courses are operated by a group of certified diving Instructors who have over decade of experience

The courses are conducted year-round. Practical dives will be carried out at near the Satang Islands and/or Batang Ai National Park.

Discover Scuba Diving

The DSD programme is an introduction to the world of scuba-diving. It’s conducted in 2 parts, namely an introduction to scuba diving through a one-hour classroom session, followed by two hours practical session in the Swimming Pool.

Fees per Person:

  • RM150

DSD fees include the rental of the following scuba gears such as mask, snorkel, fins, weights, belt, Buoyancy Control Device, and regulator.


Age above 12

Course Duration:

3 hours to 1 day

Open Water Diver (OWD)

The OWD course arms you with the background information you need to dive safely. Owing an OWD license is your first step towards exploring the world beneath the waves.

Fees per Person:

  • RM1800 (1 person)
  • RM1500 (Group sign-up of 2 to 3 persons)
  • RM1200 (Group sign-up of 4 persons and above)


  • Age 10 to 14 who earned a Junior Open Water Diver Certification.
  • Age above 15

Student candidates need to fulfil the following:

  1. Liability Release and Assumption Of Risk Agreement (10072)
  2. Medical Statement (10063)
  3. Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding (10060)

Course Duration:

5 to 6 days

Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD)

The AOWD course is your next step after the OWD in your journey to explore the underwater world. Our AOWD course is designed to build your confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. In this course, you will be trying out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. Your dives will be logged while you expand your capabilities.

Fees per Person:

  • RM1250 (1 or group sign-up of 2 to 3 pax) + additional RM50 per person with night dive
  • RM1150 (Group sign-up of 4 persons and above) + additional RM50 per person with night dive


  • Certified OWD
  • Approved medical statement by a Medical General Practitioner

Course Duration:

2 to 4 days

Emergency First Response (EFR)

The EFR training focuses on building confidence in lay rescuers in the face of a medical emergency. Course participants learn simple to follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills in a controlled learning environment.

Rescue Diver (RD)

The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to better face dive emergencies via the usage of various techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn the different distress indicators to watch out for and the appropriate responses.  Topics covered include:

  • Self rescue
  • Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
  • Emergency management and equipment
  • Rescuing panicked divers
  • Rescuing unresponsive divers

Revo Rebreather Air Dliuent/ Air Diluent Deco Diver Course

rEvo Rebreather training is now available in Kuching with KSC for the first time with Mr. Davy Koh, a Singapore-based rEvo Rebreather Diver/ Pioneer Instructor with more than 30 years experience under his belt.

There are 2 options available, depending on the student’s level of experience:

  • New rEvo Diver Course
  • Crossover Course


Fees per person:

  • S$2000 for new rEvo diver course
  • S$1400 for Crossover

Course fee includes training materials and pool uses.

Students need to rent/purchase a rEvo unit for the course.

Gas, sorb, bailout tank/regulator, personal dive gear, OW boat trips and Certification Card are not included.



Student/Instructor ratio: maximum of 2 students

Minimum 18 years/50 OW dives/Advanced Nitrox or equivalent

Advanced Nitrox training can be incorporated with the rEvo course at extra cost.


Course duration & Contents:

New rEvo Diver Course

Max decompression allowance depends on the previous certification of the diver and agency standards.

Total course duration: minimum 5 full days

Total in water time: minimum 480 minutes

Confined water: 2 dives – minimum 60 mins each

Open water: 6 dives, minimum 360mins, max 2 dives a day
Students carry 1 bailout tank on all dives for CW and OW – minimum 5 litre/40 cuft


Crossover Course

Crossover: Other CCR certification is allowed, no credits given for SCR certification

Total course duration: minimum 3 days
Total in water time: minimum 240 mins

Confined water: minimum 1 dive, minimum 60 mins

Open water: minimum 4 dives, minimum 180 mins

Successful completion of the above courses allows the diver to dive to a depth of 30m/45m max.
